Pricing and Billing
Friday pricing and billing describe an owner-set offer of $49 USD month to month. The offer includes unlimited projects and clients with no seat charges, lets you cancel anytime, and has no annual commitment. Billing is currently off, so the offer describes the intended paid plan rather than a subscription you can buy now.
There is no live checkout or charge while billing remains off. Creating an account does not start a charge, and you should not expect a billing page or payment control in the current interface.
Friday pricing and billing offer
The stated plan includes:
- One business account.
- Unlimited projects.
- Unlimited clients.
- No seat based charge.
- A price of $49 USD per month when billing is enabled.
- Month-to-month billing with no annual commitment.
- Cancellation at any time.
"Unlimited" describes the number of projects and clients included in the price. It does not remove the service's technical limits, acceptable use rules, file limits, or rate limits. For example, attachment size and type rules still apply.
The price does not vary with the number of projects you create or the number of client email addresses assigned to those projects. The service does not present a seat calculator or a set of usage tiers.
Read the public Pricing page for the current published offer. Read the Terms for payment, cancellation, availability, and lawful use terms. If the two pages change, use the current public pages rather than an old copy of this guide.
Know what billing off means
Billing is not live at present. When billing is off, billing navigation is hidden and billing routes return 404. There is no working checkout, subscription purchase, current charge, or billing portal for an ordinary account to use.
Do not treat a public price as evidence that a payment was taken. A stated price and an enabled checkout are separate. No live checkout or charge can occur until billing is deliberately enabled and configured.
Because billing is off, this guide does not promise a current cancel button. There is no current subscription to cancel through the app. If you have a question about an unexpected payment that you believe is connected to the service, use the Support link in the site footer and include the date and amount. Do not send a full card number, password, or other credential.
No guaranteed response time or round-the-clock support is promised. The current legal text says to contact support about refunds or billing problems, but it does not promise that a refund will be granted.
What changes only when billing is enabled
The application contains a conditional Dodo Payments billing flow. The flow is not available while billing is off. Its presence in the application does not mean that live payments are enabled.
When billing is enabled and correctly configured, the Billing page can show a subscription status and one control that matches the account's billing state. The actual labels are:
- "Subscribe for $49/month" when no checkout or customer exists.
- "Resume secure checkout" when a checkout session is available.
- "Retry secure checkout" when a checkout request is pending.
- "Manage billing" when a billing customer exists.
The billing page can also say that billing setup is needed before you can subscribe or manage payment details. A returned checkout can remain pending until the payment provider confirms the subscription. If a subscription is set to end, the page can state that it will end after the current billing period.
The labels describe conditional application states. They are not instructions for the current billing off state, and they are not a promise that a specific control is now visible.
Subscribe when checkout becomes available
Only follow these steps if the site displays the Billing page and its subscription control:
- Confirm that the page states $49 USD per month.
- Select "Subscribe for $49/month."
- Review the provider checkout before entering payment information.
- Check the displayed price, taxes, and renewal terms.
- Complete payment only if those terms are correct.
- Return to the Billing page and review the subscription status.
Dodo Payments is the merchant of record in the configured billing flow. The provider handles card details, and Friday does not store those card details. A checkout return does not by itself prove that the provider confirmed a subscription, so use the Billing page status rather than submitting another payment immediately.
If the page says checkout is pending, follow the visible instruction and contact support before trying again. The application is designed not to send a duplicate request in an uncertain pending state. Repeatedly submitting checkout can make a payment question harder to resolve.
Use Manage billing only when it is enabled
Only a billing enabled account with a billing customer can use "Manage billing." Selecting it opens a provider portal session where payment details or a paid subscription can be managed.
The current terms say that a paid subscription can be managed or canceled through "Manage billing." The application does not expose that control when no billing customer exists, and it does not expose billing at all while billing is off.
If a future paid subscription is marked to cancel at the end of its period, the Billing page can say, "Your subscription will end after the current billing period." Keep a copy of any provider confirmation that you need for your records. Do not infer a cancellation from closing a browser tab or stopping use of the service.
The Exporting Your Data guide explains how to keep a plain text copy of project records. An export does not cancel a subscription, change billing, or delete an account.
Handle common billing messages
"Billing setup is not complete" means a subscription or portal action cannot continue. Do not enter payment details elsewhere or follow an unverified payment link. Return to the published site and use its footer Support link if you need clarification.
"A subscription already exists" means the application will not create another checkout for that account. Use "Manage billing" when it is available.
"Checkout is pending" or a reconciliation message means the provider outcome needs to be checked before another request is sent. Do not keep retrying. Record the wording and the approximate time, then contact support without sharing card data.
For general status errors, read Troubleshooting. For how account and provider data are handled, read Privacy and Security and the Privacy Policy.
Plan account use separately from billing
Billing state does not change the basic project workflow described in these docs. Start with Getting Started, then use Creating a Project and Writing an Update.
Friday pricing and billing currently describe an offer, not a live checkout or current cancellation control. The visible site, Pricing, and Terms are the sources to check before making a payment decision. Do not rely on screenshots, copied checkout links, or old billing instructions.
