If you need a record of a client's approval, look at ClientProof. If you want to send written updates by email and keep them with replies on one page, look at Friday. No client login is a feature of both, not a reason by itself to choose Friday. ClientProof describes its approval workflow on its homepage.

What the client sees
Friday
Each project has one private link. Updates appear newest first. Posting an update queues an email with the update text and a link to the page.
Clients can enter their name and reply under an update. The reply stays on the page and queues an email to you. Replies to notification emails do not become comments on the page.
Each update or reply can include one PNG, JPEG, PDF or text file up to 5 MiB. Files are downloaded from the page, not attached to the email.
ClientProof
Its status-update page describes a shared project timeline with no client login, saved update history, files, milestones and approval requests.
ClientProof also describes engagement tracking, including whether clients interact with the project page.
We have not tested its email delivery or reply flow. Check those details and file limits with ClientProof if they affect your choice.

Friday's links are not an identity check. Anyone with the link can read, download and reply. You can replace a link if it was shared by mistake. Use another channel for sensitive records.
Approvals and project tools
ClientProof's homepage describes approvals tied to deliverables, with a timestamped receipt, client name and verification code. It also lists milestones, reports and engagement tracking. Read ClientProof's feature descriptions, checked 27 September 2026.
Friday does not have approval requests, approval receipts, milestone tracking or read tracking. A client can write a reply, but that is not a separate approval record. An email marked sent means the mail server accepted it, not that the client read it.
Friday has one owner account and one client email per project. It does not provide team-member seats, task boards or dashboards. Keep your existing project tool for planning the work.
Which should you try?
Try Friday if
One person writes your client updates, and you want the update in the client's inbox as well as on a page with its replies.
Read the weekly update format, then try it on a project.
